I started using this lotion as well as the peppermint soap at night before bedtime. After three nights of tossing and turning and getting no sleep I finally got on the computer and did some research. My research revealed that peppermint can keep you awake and it was this peppermint lotion and soap that was keeping me up at night. Because I shower at night and put on lotion after my shower these two purchases were a complete waste of money for me. It would be extremely helpful if the company indicated somewhere in the description that their lotion can have this effect.

I have used Dr. Bronner’s soap for over a decade. Luv the peppermint products the most. I have replaced most soaps, detergents and even toothpaste in my house with it. There have been crazy days when I am glad I can take the one bottle of peppermint soap and sponge off, brush my teeth, wash my hair, etc…all in one…all in 20 minutes. Aside from great products, Dr. Bronner’s family business is ethical and takes care of its employees– allowing them to be a fair part of the businesses successes. I highly recommend YouTube to see the documentary Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soapbox. It’s what made me really fall in luv with everything Dr. Bronner.

I actually loved this lotion the beginning first week I got it. It rubs in nicely and I am a fan of the scent although those around me were not lol. I noticed at the end of the week that my skin was really itchy so like the dodo brain I am I lathered up in this lotion thinking it was just dry skin. I went to bed shortly after and not to long my arms felt like my bones were breaking and my skin was on fire. I know weird description. My chest starting getting really tight and I rubbed this lotion all over my neck as well and my throat was very tight. My husband drove me to the ER and apparently I had a pretty crazy allergic reaction to the lotion. I got a shot of steroids and was on my way feeling much better today. ItÕs great lotion and IÕm sure not everyone will have this issue but at least test it on a small portion of skin before your whole body. Oops!

I really like this lotion! It has a wonderful peppermint smell. I used this during an overseas trip to an area that had mosquitos. Although I wore repellant, I used this under my clothing where I couldn’t apply mosquito repellent as an extra level of protection. I didn’t want to wear any sweet smelling lotions during the mission trip. This was my alternative. I enjoyed using this on my hands, as well as my face. It was refreshing to use this even on days when I felt congested. It’s not a decongestant. It’s not a repellent. But those are just additional side effects. Will buy again.
